TAPER FACED RING


Taper faced rings are the rings that perform both tasks simultaneously, compress and perform oil scraping. This feature has been gained by designing the edge of the ring to angled inwards. As the ring comes out from bottom to top, it passes over the existing oil film, but when the top-down movement begins, as a result of its design, it plunges more into the oil film and filters the excess oil layer on the walls towards the oil pan and thus performs the oil stripping function. In some gasoline engines, it can also be used in the piston ring groove. Some types of these rings are given below.
